Lois McMaster Bujold is an American author. She has written dozens of novels, both science fiction and fantasy. Her most famous work might be the Miles Vorkosigan –saga. Bujold has won e.g. four Hugo awards for the best novel) The Vor Game, Barrayar, Mirror Dance, Paladin of Souls), two Nebula awards (Falling Free, Paladin of Souls) and the Mythopoeic Award (The Curse of Chalion). Her latest novel, Cryoburn, was nominated for a Hugo in 2011.

Liz Williams is an author from Glastonbury, UK. Her works include both science fiction and fantasy. Williams has been nominated for the Philip K. Dick award three times) The Ghost Sister, Empire of Bones, Banner of Souls). Her latest series of novels are the Inspector Chen –novels which combine science fiction and fantasy with detective novels. Williams has a PhD (Philosophy of Science) from the University of Cambridge and in the mid-1990s she lived in Kazakhstan. These both factors are very much evident in her works. In addition to writing, Williams owns shop The Magick Box in Glastonbury.

Irma Hirsjärvi is a Finnish researcher and fandom activist. She has been essential in organizing Finncons all the way from the mid-1990s, and her impact on spreading the news of Finnish fandom abroad is significant. Hirsjärvi has also researched science fiction and fandom: in 2009 she did her PhD work on the Finnish fandom. Hirsjärvi has also successfully delivered two new generations of members into the Finnish fandom.
